I was hooked after the first episode. This is a fun one with lots of energy. There's plenty of the usual silliness, action, and insane situations. One subplot involves a chemist doing nuclear and poison gas research in a residential neighborhood. The series doesn't get bogged down with recaps, and moves right along. I enjoyed the teasers at the end of each episode. They were fun. (Was that a Tiddlywinks promo in one chapter?) As usual, nothing is accomplished until the final chapter. No surprise as to the identity of The Green Archer.
Victor Jory (
Bulldog Drummond at Bay,
Cat-Women of the Moon), quite possibly the smarmiest actor of all time, stars. The bad guys try to kill him one moment, then capture him the second. His stunt double gets quite a work out. The acting in general is above average, but on the hammy side.
I downloaded the MPEG4 files. Audio is fine. Aside from some text at the bottom of the picture being out of view in some chapters (no doubt lost during the digital transfer), the video is fine.
